October brings a full calendar of ways to experience the Forgotten Coast – from local shopping and live music to family-friendly celebrations and fall traditions. Whether you’re exploring Port St. Joe, St. George Island, Apalachicola, or Cape San Blas, there’s plenty happening throughout the month. Here are a few events to add to your October calendar.

First Friday Sip & Shop
October 2nd
Reid Avenue | Port Saint Joe

Join Gulf County shops and boutiques for First Friday Sip & Shop, October 2, from 5-7pm ET for beverages, light hors d’oeuvres, art, music and more! You will find great deals and good times around Reid Avenue at participating businesses! After shopping, stay in the business district for dinner and entertainment!

Pink Out
October 9th
Paddy’s Raw Bar | St. George Island

The annual Pink Out will be held Friday, October 9 at Paddy’s Raw Bar on St. George Island. This event benefits the Franklin Needs group which provides free mammograms and other services to residents. Get ready for a fun filled night including an entertaining “woman-less pageant”, raffles, cool merchandise, live music, food, lots of yummy goodies and much, much more! The annual Pink Out! festivities begin at 6 pm at Paddy’s Raw Bar

Porch Fest
October 10th
Downtown Apalachicola

This year’s festival features 18 porches, 3 stages, and 35 acts playing a wide variety of music, beginning and ending at Battery Park on Apalachicola Bay. Thanks to generous community support, Porch Fest Apalach is a FREE event. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, coolers, and money for tips and purchases. The event will have limited-edition t-shirts, posters, and other festival merchandise for sale, along with a food court featuring delicious local specialties.

Harvest Run 5k and Beer Mile
October 17th
Scallop Cove | Cape San Blas

Presented by Strolling Joes Run Club & Scallop Cove General Store. Join us for a fun fall morning on Cape San Blas! Whether you’re here to run, walk, enjoy the scenery, or take on the Beer Mile, we’re ready to celebrate with you!

Lighthouse Trick or Treat Spooktacular
October 23rd
Lighthouse | St George Island

The St. George Lighthouse Association will be hosting its 7th Annual SGI Lighthouse Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular on Friday, October 23rd from 6:30-8:30 pm in SGI Lighthouse Park. This free, family-friendly event will feature multiple candy stations along the sidewalk and spooky decorations lighting up the park. Guests, young or old, are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and join us for the fun.

October is a great time to get out and experience the communities that make the Forgotten Coast so special. From supporting local businesses to gathering with neighbors and enjoying the outdoors, these events offer another way to experience the character and community that define life along the coast.
