Established by the City of Panama City Beach to provide recreational opportunities while also serving as a safeguard for area wetlands, wildlife and forests, the park encompasses over 2,900 acres with 24 miles of trails and over a mile of boardwalks that lead through enchanting Cypress domes.

Choose from 12 trails varying anywhere from 11 miles to 0.6 miles suitable for a range of fitness and skill levels. Eight boardwalks totaling over a mile are scattered through the park with beautiful views of the wetlands. Trails are open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Paved trails known as Gayle’s Trails after former Panama City Beach mayor Gayle Oberst connect the conservation park trails with other trials throughout the beach. A pavilion, picnic areas, an outdoor classroom and public restrooms are located at the trailhead parking lot. Seasonal programs are offed for park guests including bird walks, volunteer and recreational programs.
