First Friday at Downtown Carrabelle

The Downtown Carrabelle business community has joined forces with Rio Carrabelle Art Gallery to host the First Friday event series from 5 to 8PM on the first Friday of every month. The streets and businesses of Carrabelle will be alive with live music, after-hours shopping, refreshments, gorgeous art, delicious food, lively conversation, new and old friends, specials, and fun.

 

St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve – Field Trip
St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve | Port St. Joe

Head to the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve for a day of exploring a natural coastal landscape. The dune/swale system formed by sand dunes in St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve, created during ancient changes in sea level, is one of the most stable and clearly defined of such topographic features found anywhere. The Preserve also has one of the highest concentrations of rare plants in the southeastern United States, including globally imperiled species.

License-Free Freshwater Fishing Day
Multiple Locations | All Counties
June 8th -9th, 2024

License-free fishing days provide an excellent opportunity for those who don’t yet have a fishing license to experience fishing, take youth fishing, or for avid anglers to introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license.  On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers, including both residents and non-residents. All other rules such as seasons, bag and size limits apply.

Gollywopper Classic

Get ready to cast your line and reel in the big ones at the GollyWhopper Classic! This one-day fishing tournament promises thrilling competition, fantastic fishing, and the chance to win cash prizes. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just starting out, this tournament is for you. There is also a youth division, so be sure to register the kids! The GollyWhopper Classic will kick-off on June 21st for the Captain’s Party at 5:30PM. There will be live music, food, registration, and more. Weigh-in will be on June 22nd, from 3:30-5:30PM. All events will be held at the Boat Ramp Park in Mexico Beach.

Sunset and Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse
St. George Island Lighthouse and Museum | St. George Island

The June Sunset and Full Moon Climb is a unique opportunity to enjoy the view of St. George Island, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Apalachicola Bay under the evening sky from the top of the lighthouse. The Sunset and Full Moon Climb will begin at 8:30PM and run until 11:30PM. Fifteen-minute time slots will be allotted for each group on a first come, first served basis.

7th Annual Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Festival

The Florida Coastal Conservancy and Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center invite you to participate in the 7th Annual Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Festival. This event will include music, food, beverages, and a Sea Creature Parade, and will take place rain or shine. The purpose of this event is to educate attendees about sea turtles and the importance of the coastal habitats they and many other species call home. In addition, this event serves as a fundraiser for the Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center.
